Joel 3:10

"Beat your plowshares into swords And your pruning hooks into spears; Let the weak say, 'I am strong.'" Joel 3:10

We all know that a newborn child is not capable of sustaining life on its own. They need a mother's nurturing for months and years. Most adult humanoid life forms want to share in that nurturing.

The weak do that to normal people. We just want to help them grow strong. Even the sight of the aged and infirm does that to me. I guess it is just some thing that God has placed within me. I can fight it, but I will lose the battle every time. The nurturing part of me takes a grip on my emotions and directs my eyes to tear a bit, especially when there is nothing I can do. Most of us are wired that way.

Still, Joel says there will come a time when even the weak will be strong. I can imagine the lame man when the trumpet sounds and we are gathered to be with Jesus. He first hears the sound of the horn. He looks and all around him people begin to rise off the ground. With all that is in him, he longs to join them, but he remembers his infirmity. He can't walk. He is lame. There is no way he could ever keep pace with those flying people much less catch up with them. His handicap has delayed his departure. Sadness begins to envelope him in sorrow. Tears begin to stain his cheeks. But wait! He feels a strange sensation coursing through his body! The tingling in limbs that have only felt numbness for years excites him. He gazes down and the earth is far below. "I am strong!" he shouts. "I am flying!" His excitement overwhelms him. His joy is completed as he looks upward and sees the arms of his Savior opened wide in expectation of his arrival!

Won't that be a wonderful day? I can hardly wait; but, wait I must for the time when my infirmities are corrected. Ah, but I don't have to wait for the strength of Jesus to overtake me. That is available now. All I have to do is appropriate the power of His Holy Spirit and all of His strength is mine! You can do the same. There is plenty to go around.

Are you weak today? Do the affairs of this world seem to be strapped to your back and you are bowed over with despair? God's strength is yours. Are you burdened with concern for the weakness of a son, a daughter, a mother, or a father? Jesus' Spirit can lift that burden as well. He said His burdens are light and His yoke is easy. That means He is willing to pull more than His share of your load. All you have to do is let Him do it. Are you willing? Today?

Are YOU right with God?

True Christianity is not about attending a particular church, or how your parents raised you, or what country you were born in. Being a Christian means that you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, that He is your Savior. It's not good enough that your priest, pastor, mother, or aunt knows Jesus, you must know Him for yourself. They cannot believe in Him for you, you must believe for yourself. They cannot repent for you, you must repent for yourself.

Jesus is everywhere all the time. He can hear you now if you ask Him for forgiveness. Please turn your life over to Him NOW. Time slips by so quickly, don't miss this opportunity. If you want to pray and ask Jesus to be your Savior, you can say a prayer something like this:

"Jesus, I know that I have sinned against you. I know the truth is that I have sinned by my own choice, and I am the one responsible for it. I know that I have earned punishment from You, and that the fair punishment would be death. Jesus, I believe that You died in my place. Forgive me for my sin. I cannot cover or take my sin away, I am relying totally and only on You. You are the only one who can save me. I reject my sin, I turn away from it, I repent. Come into my life, take away my sin, and show me how to live my life in a way that is right and pleasing to You." Thank You Jesus, Amen and Amen.

If you have prayed this, YOU ARE SAVED! You are now completely forgiven, a new creation, innocent in the eyes of God, please e-mail me and let me know. Welcome to the family of God! Hallelujah, Amen and Amen.
